Quality teaching

Our courses are taught by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers and researchers. Ben Knights, Professor of English at Teesside, is currently Director of the English Subject Centre, the national centre for learning and teaching in English Studies in higher education.

First-class facilities

The Library has an impressive collection of relevant material which is continually renewed. You’ll have access to the internet, CD-ROMs and electronic databases through the Library's 400 workstations. English also hosts a Royal Literary Fund Fellow providing students with advice and guidance on both critical and creative writing.

English staff have expertise in critical and cultural theory, contemporary popular culture, and feminist and gender studies, ensuring that students of English at Teesside University are up to date with the latest thinking in their discipline.
