As part of our Future Talent Programme we have a range of opportunities for graduates with talent and ambition. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic graduate, capable of managing key projects and activities, to join our Procurement Team on a 12 month graduate internship. All of our internships provide a fast paced, hands-on and fun business experience with plenty of learning opportunities.

The Junior Buyer will form an integral part of the Procurement function contributing to the delivery of the team objectives and productivity targets. The Junior Buyer will take a proactive approach in supporting the Procurement Business Partners to undertake supplier reviews, negotiations and ongoing management across a range of indirect categories (e.g. Marketing, Medical & Patient Solutions, Corporate Spend – Professional & HR Services). The role is key to leading Novartis forward in securing quality suppliers of goods and services covering price delivery and quality requirements.

Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

The role, working in collaboration with the Procurement Business Partners and Tactical Teams via Novartis Global Service Centres (NGSC), is primarily focused on liaising with suppliers, contractors and all relevant internal departments to source the required goods and services at the right quality, right time whilst delivering best value.

Key Accountabilities:
•Understanding and application of the Procurement Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and communicating this to all relevant managers and teams
•Management of the Preferred Supplier Lists (PSL)
•Conducting research to ascertain the best suppliers of goods and services in terms of best value, delivery and quality
•Preparing tender documents, inviting responses from interested parties/suppliers
•Evaluating tenders and more detailed business bids/pitches, sharing your recommendations based on commercial and technical factors
•Negotiating prices and agreeing contracts, monitoring their progress
•Creation of payment schedules and supporting the business to build
•Ensuring contracted work has met expectations and been delivered on time
•Ensuring all tender invitations and assessments are conducted in an ethical and fair way and in line with Novartis Values
•Manage supplier performance via regular business reviews, Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring and customer feedback
