Our Client is a multi-national professional services company specialising in programme management, project management, cost management and consultancy across the property, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

Looking to grow their cost management team in their Newcastle Office, Our client is looking to hire an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Cost Manager.

Main purpose of the role:
• To take responsibility for end to end service delivery. To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service. You will be able to handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project. Typically, leading on projects falling within the £5m to £10m range and support on larger schemes.

Duties to include:
• Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
• Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage
• Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
• Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
• Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
• Inputting into value engineering
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
• Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities
• Track record of delivering new build and/or fit-out projects on projects such as residential, commercial, educational, health and retail projects

• Minimum requirement is a Degree in Quantity Surveying
• MUST have pharmaceutical experience

• Chartered status with the SCS, RICS or equivalent recognised body is preferable.
