Jobs E-bulletin issue no: 912/120918 Date job posted: 06 September 2018

Based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, or West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven, our Radiography department is friendly and welcoming.

The Cumberland Infirmary is a district general hospital located in Carlisle and close to the Lake District National Park that provides specialist trauma services, and due to its geographical location and large catchment area, we receive a large amount of unconventional and complex trauma. The Cumberland Infirmary is now fully accredited with trauma unit status within the Northern Region Trauma Network. The Radiographers are provided with a lot of opportunities to utilise and adapt their skills in a host of multidisciplinary areas. We also provide angiography services.

The department has recently undergone an equipment upgrade to replace all the CR x-ray rooms, a new hybrid fluoroscopy screening room has been installed, and is currently working on plans to replace and extend its CT and MRI provisions.

At West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, the main work area is within the Main X-Ray Department, delivering all aspects of Plain Film X-Ray, Theatres, Emergency Department, Fluoroscopy, Interventional procedures and Inpatient Radiography.

A 24/7 shift system is in operation with rotation across the relevant modalities, this includes on-call for Emergency Theatre work. Shifts will be available at either of our sites and are self-selected by bank colleagues.
