Why attend

The annual Careers Fair takes place in November, attracting students and graduates from a wide range of courses. Our aim is to facilitate a marketing network for employers\organisations and students and to provide an opportunity for both parties to meet in a focused, but informal setting.

  • Bookings are accepted (subject to availability) until beginning of October.
    Please note, in order to achieve a well-balanced event we monitor the range of employers requesting to attend.

Cost to attend

One administration fee of £150. The fee is non-refundable.
There are no discounts.

Event times

The event starts at 10.00am and ends at 2.30pm


  • Sports Hall, Olympia Building


Your booking will include:

  • Allocation of floor space (approx 3m x 3m) to accommodate your stand and marketing materials. Note, Teesside University does not supply display stands
  • One large table (4ft or 5ft in length), and requisite chairs
  • Access to a power socket (if required). Please bring an extension lead with you.
  • Access to the internet via TU_visitor guest wireless network service (if required)
    • instructions on how to access the service along with the passkey will be on your stand on arrival
    • prior to attending the careers fair, please ensure that your laptop is up to date with Microsoft patches and anti-virus software, and is fully charged.
    • Note, Teesside University does not supply laptops.
  • Allocation of one car parking space in a car park situated near to the venue
  • Tablecloths (if required)
  • Bottled water will be provided on all stands
  • Refreshments available throughout the day (drinks vouchers will be supplied).
  • Buffet lunch (held in the Olympia Lounge upstairs - directly overlooking the Sports Hall. No vouchers required)
  • Access to photocopying on the day
  • Support from members of the careers staff available throughout the day

Careers fair sponsorship opportunities

Raise the profile of your organisation - sponsor the fair. This is an exclusive opportunity for one organisation only. The price is £550.

Booking confirmation

  • Email confirmation sent on receipt of completed booking form and summary of opportunities form
  • Invoices are issued on confirmation of booking
  • A further email will be sent to you in mid October, detailing travel directions, car parking instructions, maps, and the availability to view the floor plans - as detailed in the sections below

Regularly check the careers fair web pages to find out who else will be there and to view the floor plan prior to the event. You will also be given a copy of the floor plan and list of stands on the day

  • Upon delivery, you will be sent an email confirming receipt. The items will be placed on your stand allocation space ready for your arrival.

  • Deliveries should arrive directly to the venue between 8.00am and 9.30am - in plenty of time prior to the start of the event
  • If you have not arrived at the fair when your items arrive, careers staff will sign for your delivery on your behalf and place your items on your stand allocation space for your attention upon arrival

Items for collection by couriers

  • If you require couriers to collect your display stand/materials at the end of the event, couriers can access the venue between 2.30pm - 3.30pm.
  • If your courier is unable to collect your display stand/materials at the end of the event, you can arrange for your items to be collected from the Careers Service, P3.10 - Phoenix Building, Teesside University, Middlesbrough, TS1 3BX at the beginning of the following week. Please ensure your items are securely packaged and labelled with their destination address.

Car parking

  • One car park space (if requested) will be reserved for your company/organisation in the Woodlands car park. Please note we are unable to provide additional parking spaces.
  • A car parking permit is required, and will be sent to the booking contact a week prior to the event
  • University Services staff will be on duty at the Woodlands car park from 8.00am to welcome you and direct you to the Sports Hall, Olympia Building on your arrival

On the day

  • Car parking - see above instructions
  • You may arrive from 8.00am onwards. We request that all exhibitors are set up by 10.00am and expect everyone to stay until the fair ends. This is so that students who have planned to attend later in the day have the same opportunity to meet with employers as those who attended earlier.
  • On your arrival at the event reception our staff will be available to assist you.
  • You will be given an information pack containing:
    • the careers fair opportunities guide
    • floor plan
    • list of stands
    • feedback form
    • free pens
    • drinks vouchers, and map/instructions regarding lunch
    • instructions on how to access the wireless network service along with the passkey.
  • Refreshments and lunch:
    • refreshments will be available within the venue, from 10.00am - 2.30pm. Drinks vouchers will be included in your pack.
    • employer buffet is held in the Olympia Lounge upstairs - directly overlooking the Sports Hall, from 12.00pm until approximately 1.15pm. No vouchers required.
      A map and instructions will be included in your pack, however, staff will be available to direct you.
      The lunch period is often quite a busy time at the fair for students, so we would appreciate employer representatives stagger their lunch breaks. You may if you wish bring the food back to your stand.

  • Prior to your departure, we appreciate completion of our feedback form (provided in your pack on the day), the details of which will be used to improve our planning of future events.
