Learning and teaching

The Department for Learning Development lead learning and teaching enhancement. This is in support of the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the University's Learning, Teaching and Assessment strategic priority areas. Strategic priority areas are centred around:

  • student engagement and success
  • technology enhanced learning
  • supported teaching excellence

We also develop and lead key learning, teaching and assessment enhancement projects and develop, deliver and evaluate initial and continuing professional development activities, as well as provide guidance and support materials in learning, teaching and assessment for academic staff, learning and teaching support staff and staff in partner institutions and organisations.

Within the Department we have staff with professional expertise and interests who are available to work with individuals, module or programme teams, subject groups, schools or departments to initiate, broker, collaborate and build capacity in learning, teaching and assessment.

L&T@Tees online resource

L&T@Tees is a new online learning and teaching resource which aims to support L&T activity and innovation that Teesside is so well known for to enhance L&T practice and ultimately our students' university experience.

The site has two main functions:

  • A one-stop-shop access to L&T resources, documents and opportunities
  • An online L&T community where everyone can participate and get involved in discussions around L&T; sharing innovative practice and collaborative thinking and L&T news.

To access the site and comment on posts, go to http://blogs.tees.ac.uk/lttees/

For further information or to become part of this online L&T community, please contact on Joanne Davies, Department for Learning Development.
