Life & Physical Sciences

The impact of science on human health and the environment makes front page news almost daily. From exploring the human genome to developing new treatments for cancer, to climate change, to diet and nutrition, our understanding of all aspects of science is developing rapidly prompting the need for qualified professionals.

Teesside University is close to some of the most advanced pharmaceutical, biotechnological, chemical and food processing companies in the world, as well as major NHS trusts. By fostering close links with regional and national businesses, and involving employers and professionals in the development and delivery of our courses, we ensure that our students, in addition to gaining an in-depth knowledge of their subject, also develop the skills to apply it with confidence to real-world situations, thus substantially improving their employment prospects.
