'I chose Teesside because this course is so unique compared to other universities I’d looked into.'

Why Teesside?

I’m originally from London, but I chose Teesside because this course is so unique compared to other universities I’d looked into. I have always wanted to pursue a career in comics and Teesside absolutely looked like the best option for me.

How are you finding university?

My experience at Teesside University has been great. My course is challenging but very fun and my lecturers have an open-minded approach to teaching. Becoming fully independent was a daunting prospect at first, but everyone here helped to make the process much easier. I would tell anyone considering Teesside that although it may seem scary at first, all new experiences are, but it's worth doing.

Are you a member of any clubs or societies, or any volunteering programmes?

I’m a member of the Comics society through the Students’ Union and I’ve also taken part in the Kung Fu club. I’m also a Course Rep for my course, which means I help support and voice the opinions of other students on my course. I want to take an active role in uni life as I think it will provide invaluable experience for my future prospects.
