You consider what it means to be a child growing up ina ‘challenging’ environment. Such environments mightinclude homes where there is poverty, mental illness,addiction and domestic violence, persistent abuse andneglect, often perpetrated by the primary caregiver andwhere children do not have a reliable and trusted adultto help them process and manage these traumatic andfrightening experiences.
