Supporting Children's Development

You consider how children’s development is central to an understanding of working with children and families. You examine theories of child development relating to social, emotional physical, cognitive and linguistic development. And you explore a range of contemporary therapies and approaches designed to promote and encourage holistic development. You learn about theories of children’s development and developmental challenges. And how different approaches can be used to help in promoting opportunities for children to reach their potential.

You will produce a storyboard, which outline the stages of child development from 0-8, and are encouraged to focus on a particular aspect.
