Recognising Hazards and Risks in the Working Environment

You gain an in depth knowledge of the principle hazards present in the workplace and the risk management strategies available to reduce hazards in the working environment. This enables you to critically analyse and evaluate assessments of the working environment with reference to current legislation, guidance notes and literature, and explore their validity and reliability.

How you learn

Content is delivered through interactive lectures, seminars, case studies, scenarios, workshops and group work and guest lecturers are invited to share their expertise. You contribute with your own experiences, debate issues and take part in-group activities. 

Assessment is via a 2,000 word report on the management of a risk assessment undertaken in the workplace from a specified list of hazards.
