This specialist award is an integrated theory and practice award for nurses working or wishing to work in the field of occupational health. We develop you as a practitioner so you can respond in analytical and innovative ways to the challenging occupational health environment. You will be able to design, initiate and evaluate health surveillance and attendance management programmes using evidence based practice.

How you learn

A variety of teaching and learning activities are used including interactive lectures, seminars, and discussion groups and skills workshops. 

You are assessed via a 3,000 word assignment critically analysing and evaluating a healthy surveillance programme and an OSCE on a sickness absence interview.

Entry requirements


You must have Level 2 Diploma study or equivalent and access to occupational health practice.
