You focus on examining the determinants of health within any given country and evaluating major political and economic structures which impact upon health and welfare systems. Political economy alongside an examination of explanatory systems of health and disease and diversity in terms of health beliefs and values are all studied.

Key lectures and seminars are used for those who attend the classes and distance learning materials, including a blog and tutorial support, are available on the module blackboard site for those wanting to study from a distance.

How you are assessed

The award is assessed via an end assignment of 4,000 words worth 100%. The
topic is chosen by you to reflect your own personal or professional interests.
