This programme helps you to:

  • develop your knowledge and a critical and comprehensive understanding in relation to commissioning and the key policies which shape health and social care services
  • synthesise and evaluate critically the process of commissioning health and social care services in order to respond to the challenge of transforming outcomes for communities, service users and staff
  • evaluate critically impact and performance within a strategic commissioning environment.

How you learn

The programme uses a blend of teaching and learning methods such as key lectures, workshops and seminars. This is supported by work-based learning where you can apply new knowledge, academic concepts and theories to the workplace and to your professional and day-to-day practice. The University’s virtual learning environment, e@tees, is used extensively throughout the programme.

How you are assessed

Assessments are designed to reflect the learning outcomes of each module within the programme and to demonstrate the application of theory to practice. A combination of formative and summative assessment methods is used, with a final dissertation of 15,000 (maximum) words.

Entry requirements

Before accessing this course you need to have completed the PgC Commissioning for Improved Outcomes or equivalent.
