How you learn

A variety of learning and teaching methods is used including lectures, seminars and workshops. These are supported by using work-based learning which enables you to reflect on your work experience so far and apply new knowledge, academic concepts and theories to your day-to-day practice and workplace. In addition, a wide range of learning resources and online tools is available to you using the University’s virtual learning environment, e-learning@tees. Individual support throughout the course is provided by your personal tutor and the module teams.

How you are assessed

Assessment enables you to demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes of each module. During the course, you are required to submit two essays, one report and deliver a presentation. Formative assessment is used in Strategic Planning for Commissioning to enable you to receive timely feedback on your academic writing skills.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have an honours degree in a health or social care-related subject or in management. Applicants with other qualifications and experience may be considered if evidence can be provided of their ability to study at master’s level. Such applicants are invited to discuss their individual needs with the academic team. Applicants also need to be in a role within their employing organisations which enables them to undertake commissioning-based projects.
