This course offers an opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical and management skills to enable the advanced practitioner to case manage those patients with multiple long-term conditions. Your underpinning academic knowledge for these clinical and management skills will be at master’s level.
How you learn
Teaching and learning are through a comprehensive range of methods incorporating and blending traditional delivery with interactive workshops and the richness of debate and wealth of experience within the group. This programme is suitable for you if you have an advanced clinical background, and are required to engage and provide the current, new and emerging agendas for this client group. Facilitating shared learning is valued as, at advanced practitioner level, it is recognised that job roles vary greatly and the wealth of experience in the group greatly enhances your experience during your studies. It is essential that you are able to consolidate your new clinical skills and that a mentor in your clinical practice supports you for this.
How you are assessed
Assessment is through a combination of obstructive structured clinical exams (OSCEs) and written assignments.
Career opportunities
You will become a practitioner specialising in the case management of patients with multiple long-term conditions.
Entry requirements
Applicants should be registered practitioners educated to degree level. Applicants with other qualifications and experience will be considered if they can provide evidence of their ability to study at master’s level.
All applicants should gain the support of their employing organisation, which should be able to provide them with suitable access to clinical mentorship for the duration of the course.
