Our courses provide a high level of academic education combined with development of a wide range of practical skills. This ensures graduates are able to apply their subject knowledge to real-world situations and substantially improve their employment prospects. The core philosophy behind all our science, sustainability and environment courses is to 'develop the problem solvers, innovators and leaders of the future'. The University is close to some of the most advanced pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical companies in the world, as well as a major NHS trust. By fostering close links with regional and national businesses, and involving employers and professionals in the development and delivery of courses, we make every effort to ensure they are relevant to the workplace.
