This is an award of Teesside University delivered in partnership Hartlepool College of Further Education (01429 295000) Middlesbrough College (01642 333700) and Redcar & Cleveland College (01642 473132). Modules displayed are indicative and may change at different partner colleges.
The course is designed for higher technicians in instrumentation and control design, manufacture, maintenance, testing or fault finding. The course can be studied over three years or as a one year top up on completion of the Higher National Certificate in Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Instrumentation and Control Engineering provides you with a programme of study over a range of disciplines to help you develop skills to progress your career through employment or further education at degree level.

How you learn
You study sixteen units chosen to cover the range of needs of local and national industries and business.
The course is delivered using a combination of practical sessions, lectures and tutorials. You are required to complement your college-based learning with self study.
How you are assessed
Assessment is by a range of integrated assignments, case studies, projects and tests which are planned throughout the year.
Career opportunities
You may progress to the final year of the BEng Tech (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University.
The qualification provides you with the opportunity to seek career development into senior positions in national and international companies.
Entry requirements
You're expected to have a BTEC National Certificate in a similar or related discipline or GCSE A level qualifications in maths or science. We will consider relevant engineering experience.
