Mix art, science and technology and you get the creative digital media we demand in our everyday communication, social and education activities. This means today's media industries have to encompass an ever-growing blend of digital technologies, formats and platforms so that television, cinema and radio can interact and interplay with the web, animation, computer games and the mobile communication systems.

To meet consumer demands the media industries need graduates who can function as multidisciplinary experts, even if they specialise in a particular area. The flexibility of this course gives you the skills and knowledge to work in the ever-growing and dynamic industry of digital media.

You can tailor your own degree and explore the creative uses of computers by choosing from a broad portfolio of creative and technical modules including:

  • computer animation
  • games design
  • games modelling and animation
  • web design
  • digital music
  • multimedia
  • post production
  • digital imaging.

We help you develop all kinds of skills. This flexibility means the course is ideal if you want a very broad-ranging degree programme or have a particular vision of the kind of subject combination you want to study.

How you learn

Topics are introduced in lectures and followed up practically in group tutorials. An important feature is practical problem solving in multidisciplinary teams using current and emerging technologies.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed through a range of examinations, in-course assessments and group work. All assessments are designed to suit the requirements of the module and may include case studies and technical exercises.

Professional placement
