The module critically explores the concept of community in relation to crime, crime prevention and control, and maintaining order in advanced capitalist societies. By focusing on the social problems of crime, violence and disorder you will examine changes in social relationships, social networks and social organisation within communities during the urbanisation process, crime, community and community crime prevention.
