British Computer Society Prize
The British Computer Society (BCS) is the leading professional body for those working in IT. The society has over 60,000 members in more than 100 countries. It is the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP).
The BCS sponsors two School prizes:
- Undergraduate Project Prize
This prize is for final year projects making a significant contribution to the community. It is open to any School of Computing degree or HND student. - Postgraduate Dissertation Prize
This prize is for master’s projects making a significant contribution to the community.

Catherine Dummigan Memorial Prize
This prize is in memory of Catherine’s contribution to the School supporting students with disabilities. Brian Dummigan sponsors a prize for a student who, with appropriate provision from the University for his or her specific needs, has overcome barriers and achieved an excellent performance. It is open to all School of Computing students.
Henry Williams Ltd Prize
Henry Williams is a versatile and multi-skilled engineering business. As well as its long-established railway connections, it is highly regarded for work in highways equipment, control systems and forgings.
Henry Williams Ltd sponsors a prize for the best overall performance on the School’s BSc (Hons) Computer Science course.

School of Computing HND Prize
The School of Computing sponsors a prize for the best performance on its Higher National Diploma Programme. This prize is open to full-time and part-time students on completion of the HND.
