  • Computer Games Discovery Day (Concept Art) 14 March 2018

    Concept Art Concept art is a key field of illustration that is relevant to a wide range of creative industries, including computer animation, games and film. If you’re interested in traditional and digital drawing methods and are attracted by a career that utilises those skills, this is the discovery day for you.

  • Computer Games Discovery Day (Game Art World Building) 14 March 2018

    Game Art World Building 3D Modelling & Game Engines Technologies in Game Development. Students will learn about the production pipeline from Maya to Unreal Engine. Students should be interested in 3D modelling and world building for games.

    Games Programming We will be having a go at developing a rolling ball game to get an idea of some of the things involved in working with Unity. A ball will drop onto the board and you use the arrow keys to stop it rolling off... but all is not as it seems, the board is at an angle and up and down are the wrong way round!

Without this the humour, eccentricity, energy, sadness or fear in a character wouldn’t be communicated.   • Computer Animation & Visual Effects Discovery Day (Technical Direction for Visual Effects) 14 March 2018

    Technical Direction for Visual Effects Scripting Penguins! In this session you will be using a scripting language to automate the movement of animated characters in Autodesk Maya (industry-standard 3D animation software). This will involve some simple vector-based mathematics and Python/MEL scripting.
