How to receive free dental treatment on the student dental clinics
We are providing the undergraduate training programme, BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. The dental hygiene and therapy students are providing clinical treatment for patients referred by Teesside University Dental Practice and local dental practices in the Tees Valley area.
Colleagues across the University can now access the student dental facilities without making the full commitment of registering with the student dental clinic, if preferring to remain registered with their own dental practice.
The ethos of the training programme is to focus on prevention and Teesside University student dental clinic would welcome any colleagues and their families requiring preventive treatment. This includes scale and polish and oral hygiene advice.
No charge will be levied for patients being treated by a student and colleagues can try the facilities based in the Centuria South, with the added convenience of using a dental service on campus - while also enabling the students to gain a valuable and comprehensive clinical experience.
The students are supervised at all times by a number of highly experienced General Dental Council registered clinicians, while providing treatment under the direction of the Teesside University clinical lecturers.
To find out more about how to initially try out the dental service offered on campus, contact Erica Clough, Principal Lecturer on 01642 738505 or email: e.clough@tees.ac.uk.
