About EPICC

Enhancing Practice and Innovation Centre for Care

EPICC builds on long established partnerships in health and social care in the region, as well as nationally and internationally. This is through learning and teaching in a wide range of programmes and through the work of the Health and Social Care research institute.

EPICC provides a portal for health and social care practice organisations to access the wide range of expertise in the School plus a greater range of relevant expertise across the University.

The EPICC team develops cross disciplinary work to enhance and innovate - creating high quality and more efficient services for patients and service users.

Our work fosters additional creativity in learning and teaching. This helps to ensure our students, the practitioners of the future, are better prepared for the changes constantly taking place in practice. They need to be aware of the need to be entrepreneurial.

We work with employers and service colleagues to propose and develop practices which will complement quality, innovation, productivity and prevention. Our associates from a range of disciplines across the North East also facilitate this process.

Our annual marketplace event showcases a range of projects from across the School and the University that are related to practice in health and social care. We demonstrate the many enhancements and innovations that Teesside University offers.
