Practitioner fora

The Practitioner Fora, facilitated by the Tees Valley Social Care & Health Alliance, provide a discussion network for anyone who works in health and social care locally to look at real live issues they have to deal with and share both problems and solutions with colleagues in the same position as themselves.

Each Forum provides space for networking over tea then a short presentation to introduce and set the context for the discussion. This is followed by feedback from practitioners themselves on how they have dealt with the situation or topic under discussion. There is then facilitated discussion about potential best practice and problem solving.

The Fora are run bi-monthly and are free to anyone interested in attending.

Masterclasses

In association with the Tees Valley Social Care and Health Alliance, are running a series of Masterclasses on a variety of topics.

Topics are chosen to be of general interest to both employers, staff and students alike. We will be tapping into local, national and international experts in their fields within health and social care on topics ranging from government policy to practical implementation of those policies at a local level, always building on recognised good practice.

Each session will allow time for networking, as well as teaching and discussion time. Masterclasses will run approximately bi-monthly, but dates will be dictated by the availability of the experts to lead the class. They are free to anyone interested in attending.

Enterprise market place

The enterprise market place is an opportunity to explore and showcase some of the huge variety of enterprise activities currently going on in the School of Health & Social Care with client organisations and teams.

All these activities underpin practice innovation and quality improvement in health and social care, and promote knowledge exchange between practitioners and the academic work of the University.

The market place comprises a range of stalls and poster presentations hosted by the people involved in the projects, including partners from other Schools and departments and partners in practice.

This is an informal annual event, open to colleagues in the University as well as client organisations and has been designed to promote conversations about individual projects. Visitors can also get good ideas for their own workplace from other projects they would not normally think about.
