Unit for international health workforce development
The School of Health & Social Care at Teesside University has a strong reputation for educating health care professionals internationally. We are committed to supporting the World Health Organisation’s drive to improve skills and increase health care workers globally. We are a member of the Global Health Workforce Alliance and the Zambia-UK Health Workforce Alliance. We welcome international students and undertake international consultancy and research projects.
International activities and developments
We are proud of our growing reputation for supporting health and social care change beyond the UK through education, research and consultancy. This is achieved through our rapid response to meeting the needs of our partners and clients in offering focused, bespoke services, developed in partnership. We offer particular expertise in inter-professional learning, e-learning and the development of professional programmes as well as academic programmes.

The School has a number of Erasmus and Socrates links throughout Europe. We are interested to discuss staff or student visits or exchanges to the University. Unfortunately placements in health and social care settings are unlikely to be available.

Research and enterprise
Research strands are rehabilitation and physical activity, public health, nursing and social work. We have professors in these areas as staff members and also as visiting professors. The School has experience of collaborative research and welcomes discussions on developing new links.
