Postgraduate studies
The School of Health & Social Care provides a number of exciting opportunities for postgraduate study at both master’s and doctoral level.
Research-active staff
Teaching and supervision is delivered by staff at the cutting edge of research and practice. Programmes are designed to meet the needs of diverse professionals working, or planning to embark on careers, in health and social care as well as in the community and voluntary sectors and research.
Interdisciplinary courses
A growing portfolio of taught master’s programmes provide interdisciplinary education in research, practice development, leadership, management, advanced clinical practice and evidence-based approaches.
These programmes attract both full and part-time students from a range of educational and professional backgrounds. The result is a highly inter-disciplinary and inter-professional learning environment within which you are encouraged to explore areas of interest to your own research, practice and academic development in collaboration with both tutors and peers.
Doctorates
A new professional doctorate is also available that offers you the opportunity to combine original research with a taught programme that leads to a doctoral award.
We also have opportunities to conduct research leading to the award of MPhil or PhD. We have been developing research profiles and areas of expertise include food and nutrition, obesity, rehabilitation and public health. Staff are able to offer supervision in these broad areas – you can discuss your ideas with the postgraduate tutor.
