    Are you a School of Health and Social Care student who would like to improve your arithmetic in preparation for nursing calculations? The arithmetic of fractions is very important groundwork for the calculation of quantity of drugs given to patients.     Are you a School of Health and Social Care student who is unsure how to calculate dosages for oral medication or injections? This workshop will cover how to apply the techniques learned in the previous two sessions to calculate the number of tablets and amount of doses for injections and syrups. It will include: • Worked examples for tablets • Worked examples for syrups and injections

  • Critical appraisal (qualitative): an introduction 28 November 2017

    Are you a School of Health and Social Care student who would like more practice with critical appraisal? This workshop will: • provide a basic level introduction to appraising qualitative research papers • use a model for appraising qualitative research (based on 4 aspects of trustworthiness) • give you the chance to practise the technique on a sample article This workshop will only be of relevance if you have already attended a lecture on critical appraisal within the context of evidence based practice.
