About | Lines, Tubes and Drains: A Chest X-ray Masterclass

This multidisciplinary masterclass is relevant to all healthcare professionals regularly working with patients who have an intervention requiring a chest X-ray.

With a focus on patient safety in clinical practice, you explore chest X-ray interpretation. You focus on the radiographs used to check nasogastric tubes, central line, endotracheal tubes and similar interventions.

The masterclass is suitable if you are a nurse, radiographer or another healthcare professional working in any area with patients who undergo these types of procedures. You have the chance to test what you have learnt during the masterclass with images taken from our imaging databases TUPACS.

This masterclass includes:
• radiographic anatomy of the chest
• types of lines and tubes
• assessing the position
• common complications and their radiographic appearance
• effective communication strategies.
