Dr Paul Shelton is Assistant Dean for Education Partnerships and Opportunities. His role covers the specific area of work-based learning activities, industry based course development, accreditation, developing work with local FE colleges, open and distributed learning, placements and related activities.

Dr Shelton is also responsible for engagement with oil and gas sector training in the UK and overseas, as well as general management activities within the School.

Before entering academia, Dr Shelton was a senior engineering manager with a precision lost-wax vacuum casting facility in West Yorkshire, manufacturing critical gas path components for industrial and aerospace gas turbine manufacturers.
