Open learning in engineering assessments

Higher National Certificate and Diplomas

The module leaning outcomes are assessed via Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs), some of the units also require practical work for which you will be provided with additional software/ practical kit. On completion of all the assessment for a module your tutor will arrange an exit interview. This enables the tutor to authenticate your work and confirm the grade of the award. These interviews can be done in person, by telephone, or Skype

What are TMAs?

TMAs or Tutor Marked Assignments are a means of continuous assessment. They contain a series of questions which can be used to satisfy the learning outcomes of the module.

The TMAs for the module are available to download from the module online e-learning site.

All completed answers for the TMAs should be submitted via the online site elearning@tees. Your module tutor will grade your answers and provide feedback via the online site elearning@tees. It is important to note that you will not be notified when the TMA is marked - you will need to regularly check your e-learning page.

While we encourage you to communicate and discuss with other students, the work submitted by you should be your own. Anyone who is found to have copied work from others (or have supplied other students with their answers) will have their certification withheld.
