Entry requirements and applying
Higher National Certificates and Diplomas
Applicants to Higher Nationals should normally have 3 passes at GCSE (grade C or above, including mathematics) or equivalent. Plus one of the following:
- at least one A-level in an appropriate subject
- equivalent level 3 qualification in an appropriate subject.
However other qualifications and experience will be taken into consideration when processing your application.
City and Guilds certificates
For our three City and Guilds courses there is open access entry subject to a reasonable expectation of success. Admission to a course is at the discretion of the support centre. These requirements cover:
- C&G 0603 Certificate in Process Technology
- C&G 0601 Pharmaceutical
- C&G Level 3 Supplementary Studies.
Higher National Certificates
Normal entry requirements are Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in an appropriate engineering discipline, or equivalent. However, other qualifications and experience are taken into consideration. A Mathematics 'bridging' module (certificated City & Guilds at Level 3) is available which prepares you for HNC entry. There is also a Process Chemistry 'bridging' module for the HNC Chemical Engineering.
