Exciting times
TUOLE Director Chris Hoggarth says: 'These are exciting times. Empowered by a clear mandate for development of our open and flexible learning operations, by the Vice Chancellor's Executive of Teesside University and by Professor Simon Hodgson, Dean of our parent body, the School of Science & Engineering, the plan is for a significant enlargement of the unit's City & Guilds Process Technology and HNC Engineering course provision.
'Of particular emphasis for us over the next year will be the development of course materials to address the significant shortfall in trained technician and engineering support staff that is currently being experienced by firms, both local to our region, the North East UK, and internationally, in the petrochemical, oil and gas sectors.
To aid us in the work, we are very keen to create a cadre of experienced technical personnel from this dynamic sector, who would like to help us in the creation of the new learning materials that we will need, as external authors and editors.
ELCAS
We accept ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credits) for the UK armed forces - provider number 1691.
