Student support
We pride ourselves on the level of support offered to all psychology students. When you enrol you are allocated a personal tutor to guide you through your study. All tutors have dedicated times for student appointments so you can discuss your work on a one-to-one basis. Students are given a University email account and are entitled to unlimited on-campus web access.
During the first year we emphasise study skills so you learn how to use all our extensive facilities such as electronic journals, virtual learning environments and computer programmes. This is built into programme-specific modules such as Applications of Psychology, to enable skills to be placed in the context of psychological research.
We ensure our students have a great deal of choice which reflects the research expertise and interests of our staff.
We also have a team of psychology technicians dedicated to supporting you in your use of our four state-of-the-art computer suites and specialist laboratories for interview and interaction, cognition, biopsychology and psycholinguistics where you will develop practical skills in the investigation of human behaviour.
