Vision
Our vision is clear - act regionally, influence nationally, and think globally to lead the way as a progressive, innovative and enterprising Business School for the real world.
Established in 1971, we are a truly international business school – we have over 4,200 students, including over 450 international students from over 30 countries, studying at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.
We exist to inspire and shape top business talent from the UK and abroad, and to extend the boundaries of knowledge and understanding. Working creatively with employers, we tackle real world challenges.
We recognise and develop the relationship between student learning, research, knowledge transfer and business engagement for the benefit of students, staff, businesses and the social, economic and cultural development of the region.
A business school for the real world
Command of theory and a degree certificate are no longer enough. We take a different approach. Our focus is on equipping our students with the practical skills, business acumen, entrepreneurial flair, and most importantly, confidence to thrive in the real world of business in the 21st century.
Our students have the opportunity to undertake work placements and study abroad at one of our partner institutions. Our Business Club also offers the chance to take part in regular field trips to industry, and benefit from guest lectures from world-leading experts.
World class research
It's our firm belief that research excellence informs and enriches our teaching and influences the way that businesses are managed. Our commitment to this is core to our philosophy as a business school.
Many of our academics are research active and have excellent, worldwide reputations in their fields. Our students directly benefit from the experience of those leading the latest business thinking.
Return on investment
In these challenging times, return on investment is key and we believe that an investment in knowledge still pays the best interest.
We are committed to creating and delivering value to our students and business clients. Many of our staff have a wealth of industry experience to draw upon and some maintain active interests in enterprise through board-level non-executive directorships, consultancy and research projects.
We are passionate, dynamic, innovative and committed to the pursuit of excellence. So whatever your ambitions for yourself or your business, you can be sure that Teesside University Business School will help you achieve them.

Mission
Our mission is for regional, national and international recognition for quality student experience, teaching, research and business engagement.
