Teesside University Business School

About degree apprenticeships

Designed in partnership with employers, degree apprenticeships were launched by the government in 2015 and are studied over the course of 2 or 3 years. You study part-time at Teesside University Business School, with the rest of your time spent with your employer.

Academic thinking is explored through real-world examples within a safe but challenging learning environment enabling you to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes you will need to succeed.

You don't pay for your training or tuition fees but you'll have to plan ahead to cover your living costs as degree apprentices aren't eligible for student loans. However, you will receive at least the apprentice National Minimum Wage from your employer

  • Earn while you learn with no need for a student loan - your fees are paid by the government and your employer.
  • Achieve a nationally recognised qualification and gain professional accreditation or membership.
  • Develop your career and increase your earning potential.
  • Make connections with people in industry to help achieve your future career goals.
  • Develop your knowledge and skills to significantly impact on your business.

How to apply

You must be in employment and have the support of your employer to be eligible for our degree apprenticeships. Once you're ready to formally apply, get in touch and we'll work with you and your employer to progress your application.
