Schools leadership workshops
We deliver a range of one day workshops aimed at school leaders.
They are designed to be interactive and engaging in order to enhance skills, knowledge and understanding of key policy and strategic developments.
National College for School Leadership has licensed Teesside University, under the Serco Partnership, to deliver workshops which are practical, relevant and applicable to leaders within schools.
Our open workshops will be delivered across the North West and led by experienced facilitators with local knowledge, including serving headteachers and school business managers (SBMS)

Financial value standard in schools:

Designed for finance officers, school business managers and members of the senior leadership team who want to learn more about the FMSiS replacement.
Conversion to academy status:
Designed for senior leadership teams, school governors, school business managers and finance managers in schools considering conversion to academy status or in the process of converting to academy status.
Marketing and promoting the school:
Designed for senior leadership teams, school governors and school business managers who want to improve their marketing and help promote their school.
Project management in schools:
Designed for school business managers who wish to increase their knowledge of project management skills or are interested in experiencing an element of the Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM). CSBM participants will find this workshop provides additional support to the second development module.
School income generation:
This workshop is targeted at SBMs in all types of schools. The aims of the workshop are to develop and understanding of how to put into place a strategy for income generation, provide practical information and guidance on internal and external funding opportunities, provide bid writing guidance and investigate opportunities for entrepreneurial activities inschools.
Procurement and contract management in schools:
This workshop is targeted largely at SBMs with responsibility for both the strategic and operational aspects of procurement in their schools. It will also be of potential interest and value to other senior school leaders and school governors.
Introduction to teaching and learning:
The workshop is targeted largely at SBMs who wish to deepen their understanding of what constitutes effective teaching and learning in order to improve the quality of their decision-taking and their contributions to discussions with senior educational leaders in their organisation. It will also be of potential value to school governors.

Attendance at each workshop is £217.00 (plus VAT) per participant.
