Centuria
This health and social care facility is an excellent environment with large lecture theatres and extensive seminar rooms, spacious teaching accommodation and open-access information technology labs. Subjects have dedicated labs with specialist equipment and simulated practice environments.
Library
The Library combines library services with IT, and multimedia. Staff at information points on each floor will help you find what you need. Alongside a third of a million volumes of printed material, there are 1,300 study places - 400 equipped with networked workstations linked to the network and internet. Some have multimedia capability and DVD players. Scanners and printers are available. There's equipment and software for anyone who needs it. Many services are available off-campus.
Forensic facilities
- Crime scene house - the largest to be found in a British university. Over 30 crime scene areas - lounges, kitchens, master bedrooms, children’s bedrooms and bathrooms; plus a fire scene, clothes shop, bar and travel agents.
- Replica police station - includes, custody area and interview room.
- Vehicle examination suite - extensive facilities with ten vehicles.
- Four outside areas - for outdoor training - everything from burglaries to murders.
- Replica court - includes the latest recording and transmitting facilities.
- Forensic investigation lab - refurbished with the latest measuring equipment.
- Two digital evidence labs - one mobile, one fixed - equipped with industry-standard software and hardware for recovery and analysis.
Olympia
Here we combine excellent teaching facilities with sport science labs, including biomechanics and physiology labs. Our environmental chamber is one of the most advanced in the country. Facilities available to all students, include a 500 spectator sports hall, squash courts and an all-weather Astroturf pitch.

Students' Union
Our Students’ Union is one of the best in the country, twice winning 'Students’ Union of the Year'. In the 2009 Best Bar None awards in Middlesbrough it was named overall winner; The Hub, Best Nightclub; the Terrace Bar, runner up in Best Pub category.

IT and computing facilities
Our IT labs and teaching rooms have PCs, projectors and interactive whiteboards. You have access to email and internet with over 2,800 workstations across campus. We have multiple platforms such as Windows, Linux and Mac for computer-aided design and media production. Many facilities are open access. We have wireless networking across campus.
Northern Region Film and TV Archive
Our conservation centre houses a vast archive of film and TV material dating from 1912.
Student Centre
A range of support services for anyone who’d like information or advice from applications, admissions and finance to careers and counselling.
Student safety and security
We experience very few problems. We have our own security system with patrols, CCTV and a Campus Watch Scheme with Cleveland Police. Our security is on 24 hour call-out.
