At Teesside University our aim is to provide the best possible education to our law students. As you may be aware, the SRA has recently consulted on proposed changes to the way in which qualification as a solicitor will take place i.e. via the Solicitors Qualification Exam (SQE).

Our law offering at Teesside University has, to date, been focussed upon academic courses (the LLB, LLMs and Doctorate). Our law staff are keen to engage with you in order to establish whether or not our proposals to provide vocational law courses (whether that be Paralegal courses, CILEx, Trailblazer Apprenticeships and/or the SQE) would suit the needs of your firm. We hope that this meeting will also provide an opportunity for those who may not have a clear view as to what the SRA proposals involve to find out more about them and the effects they may have.

With this in mind, we cordially invite two to three members of your firm (ideally those involved in recruiting) to attend a Law Firm Forum on Thursday 18 May 2017 at 5.30pm.

Refreshments (tea, coffee, wine and soft drinks) and light snacks will be provided. The event will conclude by approximately 7.45pm.

Bookings will be taken up to and including the 11 May 2017.

We look forward to meeting you and hearing your thoughts.
