Successful collaboration is just the ticket
The combined skills of a Teesside graduate and lecturer have helped a forward thinking company to create an innovative online booking system.
Mango Studio, an independent digital agency based in one of our business units in Victoria Road, specialise in creating web based e-commerce and e-booking applications for the UK and international markets.
The company wanted to create a new e-booking system to allow customers to carry out business activity and process secure online booking transactions.
University duo enlisted to help achieve aim
Through a Collaborative Innovation Partnership, (CIP), Mango Studio were able to access a full time graduate and an academic expert for six months.
Ian Culshaw, a BSc (Hons) Web Development graduate and Teesside University Business School Lecturer, David Norris, worked closely with Mango Studio Managing Director Vinnie Morgan to create an ambitious online booking system that encompasses ticketing and reservation bookings and voucher purchases and redemptions.
They also developed additional features, including diary management, agency invoicing and product management.
During the early stages of development, Mango Studio saw a significant return on their investment and have secured a number of lucrative contracts.
The online booking system has now been released to the leisure and activity market.
Looking to the future
The CIP scheme has allowed Mango Studio to continue their success and meet the demand of services by opening a new office in Shanghai, China.
Vinnie Morgan said, ‘China has experienced incredible economic growth in the past 10 years which has opened up real opportunities.’
