UK’s largest private health provider partners with Teesside University

The UK’s largest private healthcare provider is working in collaboration with Teesside University to ensure its staff are educated to the highest standard.

The UK’s largest private healthcare provider is working in collaboration with Teesside University to ensure its staff are educated to the highest standard.

BMI Healthcare has entered into a partnership with the University’s School of Health & Social Care to accredit a range of qualifications which they currently offer to staff.

The University has worked with BMI Healthcare to design a total of six new modules leading to academic qualifications which will be delivered to their staff.

Topics covered by the new qualifications include: • Operating Department Healthcare Assistant • Operating Department Scrub and Circulating Practice • Operating Department Anaesthetic Practice • Operating Department Recovery Room Practice • Ward Based Healthcare Assistant • Mentorship in Practice

The School of Health & Social Care has extensive experience of working with partners in the public and private sector to deliver education and qualifications to meet the needs of service providers.

Linda Nelson, Assistant Dean (Business Engagement and Collaborative Provision), said: 'BMI Healthcare has a fantastic reputation for the quality of care it provides for patients and we are delighted that they approached us to work in partnership with them.

'We hope this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful working relationship.'

BMI Healthcare is the UK’s largest private hospital group with 59 hospitals and clinics throughout the UK.

It offers 115 different specialties and services, with centres of excellence in spinal, orthopaedic, neuro, cardiac and cancer care.
