Teesside University proud to support North East Business Awards

22 March 2018

Some of the Tees Valley’s leading companies are celebrating after winning a prestigious business award, held at Teesside University last night (March 22)

More than 400 guests attended the North East Business Awards, hosted by the Gazette and The Journal in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce, at the University’s Olympia building.

They were shown a video featuring staff and key stakeholders outlining how the University works with business before the winners were presented with their awards in 12 different categories.

Teesside University sponsored the Innovation Award, won by Applied Scientific Technologies UK. A full list of the winners, who will go on to represent the Tees Valley in the Grand final at Hardwick Hall, Sedgefield on April 26, can be found here.

We were delighted to host the awards and I would like to congratulate all the businesses who won or were shortlisted.

Professor Paul Croney.

Professor Paul Croney, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, said: 'It was another fantastic evening celebrating all that is great about the Tees Valley. We were delighted to host the awards and I would like to congratulate all the businesses who won or were shortlisted.

'The North East Business Awards is a great vehicle to showcase our work to key partners and stakeholders. Through entrepreneurship education, we develop leaders with the skills, knowledge and mind-set to make a real, practical difference to people's lives and the success of businesses and economies.

'I wish all the Tees Valley winners the best of luck when they go up against businesses from Durham, Tyneside and Northumberland in the Grand Final next month.'
