Approximately 100 delegates from across the region attended the first North East conference dedicated to digital marketing.

The Digital Marketing Futures Conference was hosted by Teesside University Business School and gave marketing and business development professionals and business owners the opportunity to share knowledge and best practice about the growing discipline.

The one-day event also featured an array of high profile speakers from international organisations such as Bing and HyperIsland, alongside digital experts from award winning agencies, leaders of award winning in-house marketing teams and some of the best digital trainers in the region and beyond.

Topics discussed throughout the day also included AI in digital marketing and design thinking in digital marketing, whilst also covering the more tactical aspects of digital marketing, such as social media, email marketing, content marketing and Conversion Rate Optimisation.

Dr David Norris, Digital Marketing Futures co-founder and Associate Dean (Marketing and Recruitment) of Teesside University Business School, said: 'This was a fantastic event which saw an amazing amount of knowledge and expertise generated and shared.

'One of the key aims of the Business School is to create an environment where businesses can come together and collaborate and contribute to the shared growth of the region’s economy.

'Events like this help to create this environment and it was fantastic to witness businesses from across multiple sectors learning from each other and gaining insight which will support their professional development and ultimately improve their business performance.

'Given the success of the event and the feedback received for attendees, planning for next year will begin shortly as we aim to host this event annually.'

The conference was at the University’s Middlesbrough campus in The Curve and the new-look Teesside University Business School which was redeveloped in 2018 following a £7.5m investment to provide flexible, modern and high quality learning facilities to promote quality interactions between staff, students and businesses alike.
