ElringKlinger (GB) has recently taken on three Teesside University undergraduates as part of its Year in Industry offering.
A sandwich placement is a real job, with real responsibilities and outputs. It offers employers a year-long interview. Student feedback emphasises how much they also value an opportunity like this – in fact the experience they can gain during a placement year is irreplaceable.
Employers who establish a working relationship with Teesside University and our placement students are ahead of the competition when it comes to recruiting graduates. Each student’s fresh approach and motivation may be the impetus your business needs to move projects forward – or they may simply support day-to-day activities, essential to the successful running of your organisation.
Each placement is supervised by one of our academics who work with employers to identify a meaningful project which is of benefit to both parties.
‘Here at ElringKlinger (GB), creating job opportunities for school leavers is a priority – our dedication to providing opportunities through our Year in Industry placements is testament to this. Firms need to invest properly in careers advice to attract young people from an early age, which is why we work in partnership with Teesside University, to encourage and support the younger generation who are aiming for a career in engineering.’
