Charitable status

Teesside University has charitable status and is exempt from registering under the terms of the Charities Act 2011. This means that the University does not have a registered charity number. The Higher Education Funding Council for England, (HEFCE), is the principal regulator of universities with exempt charitable status, and they require that the information on this page is made readily available.

Legal name and correspondence address

The University’s legal name is Teesside University. This is also the University’s preferred name. The correspondence address is Borough Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3BA.
