If you are applying to study BA (Hons) Film and Television Production within the School of Arts & Creative Industries, you could be eligible for a Franc Roddam Scholarship.

Franc Roddam is a Hollywood film director and producer best known as the creator of Auf Wiedersehen Pet, the worldwide TV franchise MasterChef, and as the director of 70s classic Quadrophenia.

As a Teesside University Honorary Graduate from the local region, Franc is passionate about supporting opportunities in the creative industries. Each scholarship will consist of £8,000 payable across three years of an undergraduate programme and will support UK home-fees students incoming on our BA (Hons) Film and Television Production.

One scholarship worth £8,000 is available for the 2024-25 academic year

Franc Roddam scholarship eligibility

This scholarship may be relevant if you face financial difficulty during your studies at Teesside University. You are considered based on the financial circumstances demonstrated in your application statement and other applicant data available to the University.

To apply for one of these scholarships you must:

  • choose Teesside University as your firm choice with UCAS on our BA (Hons) Film and Television Production, on the first year of a three-year degree course full-time three-year programme not a foundation year
  • be a UK home-fee paying student
  • outline your financial circumstances and how the scholarship funds will enable your studies.

Preference will be given to students applying from within the Tees Valley region.
