Hill scholarship

£6,000 over three years

You may be eligible for the Hill Scholarship if you have been educated at a Tees Valley school or college for at least three years and enrol on the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance.

The Hill Scholarship was introduced in 2019, thanks to the generosity of a former Teesside University lecturer, who was also an accountant prior.

Each scholarship provides £6,000 over three years to support you through the duration of your course.

Two scholarships are available for the 2024-25 academic year.

Hill scholarship eligibility

This scholarship is open to first-year undergraduate students joining the course. Those studying a four-year advanced practice route will be eligible for support in their first, second, and fourth years. Students beginning a foundation year are not eligible.

To apply for this scholarship you must:

  • be a new entrant on the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme paying a minimum of £9,250 a year
  • have been educated at a Tees Valley school or college for at least three years prior to your application
  • outline your financial circumstances and how the scholarship funds will benefit your studies in your application
  • detail any academic achievements or personal successes during school or college in your application
  • firmly accept your offer from the University and successfully enrol on BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance in 2024-25.

You must also be available to attend an interview shortlisted.

Please note awards are made at the discretion of the Scholarships Panel, who may consider your financial background, prior academic performance, as well as other information provided through your application and at any subsequent interview.
