I was initially interested in Teesside University because I wanted to further develop my career prospects. I also live locally so it was ideal for me.
I really enjoyed my course and learnt a lot of essential skills which I’m sure will help me immensely in future. Having access to staff with a mixture of academic and industrial backgrounds was fantastic. I was also able to showcase my final piece of work at the ExpoTees event, which I really enjoyed.
Yes I did. I was an active member of the climbing, kayaking, gymnastics and scuba clubs. I particularly enjoyed the Winter Skills course, run between the Climbing Club and the Sports Development Officer (Outdoor Sport) Sport and Wellbeing.
I am ICT Services Officer with Cleveland Fire Brigade. I have been involved in the refurbishment of the station and I am currently developing their training centre project. My digital forensic and computer skills have also come in handy whilst working at the station, with the analysis of fire investigation photographs, CCTV management and witness statements all pivotal to my role.
Yes, because it has given me the skills I needed to develop my career and the confidence to achieve more. From a non-academic point of view, the Students’ Union offered great advice and support as well as a wide range of activities too. I would advise anyone thinking about higher education to go ahead and do it.
