Jordan graduated from Teesside University and now works for Accenture.
What I found most valuable is how much practical experience I got.
I chose to study at Teesside University because of its reputation for computing courses. By visiting an open day I could see that Teesside is keen on developing students as a whole, not just in their academic studies.
At Teesside University I developed a variety of skills which I have been able to put into practice at work. I took a one-year industry placement at DuPont Teijin Films where I learned more about databases and debugging which helped a lot in my current role.
I recommend the course highly as it really focuses on the principles of IT and helps develop well-rounded IT professionals who are ready for industry. What I found most valuable is how much practical experience I got.
I’m currently an application development associate for Accenture, working on a large governance project. My role involves generating SQL and Unix scripting to interrogate and optimise a large database as part of a team.
