Why did you decided to study a degree course?

I have previously studied journalism and wanted to progress on to a degree course, that’s what brought me to the UK.

Tell us more about your course

The course is great, there are a lot of practical aspects which suit me, as well as a good variety of modules including Global Journalism, and Investigative Journalism.

What opportunities has university presented you with?

University has provided a lot of work experience opportunities which has given me an insight in to the real world and the industry. I have presented news for RedArmy TV, worked with Sky Sports and BBC Tees as well as being involved in the TUXtra news days.

I also did a six week internship through the University with Lets Go Tees Valley, which was great. Work experience has given me a lot of confidence, as well as many new contacts which is really beneficial.

Would you recommend Teesside University?

I would definitely recommend Teesside to any new student. The facilities are brilliant and there is always help on hand if you need it. The tutors are very engaging and knowledgeable, which helps massively.

Doing my degree at Teesside has been the best experience and I feel I am ready for employment within journalism.
